From the sidewalk looking into the window at a nail salon. The vertical lines are decorative strands inside the window. The lights are a row of hanging lamps within.
I called it "Babylon" because the vertical lines remind me of hanging gardens, the lamps like flowers, and there's an interesting cheeriness to it, I feel. And it's a city. I was also pulled towards another take, thinking of naming it "Baghdad" or "Shock and Awe". The lights also remind me of the rockets and bombs lighting up the sky over Baghdad when the US first attacked Iraq. Funny how things can go either way.
Wow, talk about different ends of the spectrum with your thoughts on this. The 'strands' could be silks on a loom, the image will only be complete once the shuttle has finished its horizontal weaving.
I especially like the space between the buildings - the rectangular shape with its irregular outcroppings (or incroppings if there's such a word and depending on how you look at it) - and the subtle interest of the reflections.
