Magnificent in its simplicity. This would be close in expression as a line drawing. The light and colors are lovely. Her pursed lips makes one wonder. Her eye, amidst a thicket of lashes, is soft beyond compare. I would like to return to this little girl when I sink into cynicism.
Unexpectedly absorbing. It looks such a simple picture at first and then it offers more and more, compositionally, tonally. I ended up being fascinated by the top-left corner, trying to decide if that's where the portrait starts, or where it finishes. Happily, I couldn't decide. Thank you.
