A Green Heron (Butorides Virescens) hunting bait fish from a fallen tree on the West Fork of the San Jacinto river. Taken handheld from my Ascend H12 kayak near Lake Stubblefield, Texas, USA.
For those wondering this photograph has what is for me a very large crop but for most is probably average. My camera shoots 4608px on the long side in 4:3 format. I typically only crop to a minimum of 4000px on the long side but to make this photo center I had to crop to 3275px on the long side.
