 Went to this walkway on the Appalachian Trail here in NJ for a scene just like this. Unfortunately when I got home I realized that the best of the images I shot that day had not focused for some reason, so in spite of the small aperture everything as fuzzy. But given that this was all I had to work with I decided to go full bore with the soft focus, painterly look, though it was not what I intended. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches.

An interesting treatment - perhaps a bit to kitsch for my tastes, almost with a nod to the style of Thomas Kincade - but a super composition and overall, a pleasing scene.
