High key sepia tone, interesting. Unfortunately makes me think I need to recalibrate my monitor again as much of the back seems simply overexposed or under contrasted. I don't think of technology at all with the subject matter, but can see the interpretation when compared to current day footwear. The border is effective, but I didn't really feel the subject as quite fitting the challenge.

Perhaps a shot of boots being worn and taken midstride would have been better. Anyway, I think boots by themselves are technological, but there's implied technology in the process of making them. Light on the left is blown out too much, strange object on the right.

hmmm.... maybe you did this on purpose for artistic reasons, but I'm not crazy about the lighting in this photo. too harsh for my tastes. cool boots, though!
