The paintings in this photograph are the work of artist Eva Makk. They were part of an informal gathering of volunteers for a local charity in advance of a formal Gala to be held in June.
Eva Makk has been called “the world’s foremost living impressionist painter.” Princess Kyoko Osano of Japan and President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan are among the many dignitaries who have selected Eva Makk to create their portraits.
She is an Official Resident Artist of The Royal Hawaiian Luxury Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She recently was the guest of the Royal Hawaiian for the 90th Anniversary Gala where she donated her oil "Royal Reflection" valued at $24,500 to benefit the deadly disease ALS.
Her husband, Americo Makk, and son and daughter-in-law are all artists. Americo Makk was selected to paint portraits for the U.S. White House of President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and President Jimmy Carter in 1979. Like Michelangelo, Eva and Americo Makk have achieved a place in art history for their legacy of murals. Working jointly since 1950, they have created murals in sixteen cathedrals and churches on two continents, a feat unequaled by any other artist in our time. Their murals cover entire church ceilings and walls and are in a style reminiscent of the cathedrals of Italy.
AB Makk, Eva and Americo’s son, is an accomplished painter in his own right, preferring to use a palette knife for much of his work. Sylvia’s preference is contemporary art emphasizing color, line, and geometric shapes.

That she does, and she loves "busy", too, which this is. LOVE that shirt - somehow it goes wonderfully with the paintings! Looks like a very interesting display - looking forward to hearing a bit more about it, so hopefully you have photographer notes.
