A fantastic find on the Antarctic peninsular, a juvenile Emperor penguin sitting on the fast ice in Wilhelmina Bay. Emperors are rarely seen in this part of Antarctica so I consider myself incredibly lucky to have seen him! It has inspired me to return and maybe try to go to the interior and see more!

For me, this doesn't represent the sort of image I'm hoping to enjoy in this challenge. Of course there's nothing technically wrong with the image (I'd score it pretty well in a regular FS) but it holds little interest for me here. I'm one of those DPC members that likes the blur, the texture, the unusual motif and will often be pursuing the 'posthumous' thread. You'll know yourself that this isn't that sort of image - for which some voters may be very pleased! I'm just not one of them.

For me the 'Art' challenges are about embracing the avant-garde, going beyond (or falling short of) conventional representations, this image doesn't really do that for me; but I do like the precision of your image.

I think perhaps he his just resting, but I've been in a mood, and this makes me so sad. I know that you could dress it up - textures, vignettes, etc - but presented as it is, so stark and real, makes it sadder still.
