 A friend reported park personnel had observed a coyote pack taking down the mule deer. Since we don't have wolves (yet), the coyotes are expressing some wolf pack hunting characteristics. Bierstadt moraine along the Bear Lake corridor, RMNP. Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon EF400mm f/4 DO ID II USM +1.4xIII, 1/800s@f/5.6, ISO 800, lens focal length 560mm., 12/06/16 9:41 am.

While the animal is beautiful I would have loved to see the focus more on the prey. At first glance it just looks like its nose is behind a branch. Moving this shot to the left would have drawn me in more. Still an incredible shot though!
