Thank you for your valuable comments that I will forward to the technician who suggested this idea.

Thank you Coach sidpixel for your frankness in your comments. In some challenge, I am not there, but you are behind me and encourage me to continue, be perseverent .... one day it will be rewarded

--------

For this challenge, i decided to go simple. Effectively, I went to an artist accessories store and I bought a white and a blue paper. The technician propose me to torn the blue paper and take a photo with a white paper as a background. I have retain his idea and I have added a clips to give a point of force to my composition.

Here is the final composition

Personally, I like the left half of the image much better than the whole thing. I'm not a fan of the rolled paper and sardine can tab. That half doesn't mean anything to anyone other than maybe just being "clever". It looks like you just wanted to fit a theme. Taken out of this challenge context, I think this image falls flat - there would be no hope of a viewer "getting it". The left side of the image could at least be viewed as emulating mountains or a river or something. The right half is just "why"? Don't take this wrong, I appreciate the creativity, I just didn't see it the same way everyone else apparently did. Figured even blue ribbons need a little dissenting opinion from time to time to help them grow. Cheers.

Woohoo!! Congrats on a great pic Marcel - fantastic use of white space and the sardine can key in particular. Very well done and executed, and Coach Susan is very proud of you too :-)

Hello from the critique club

A very appealing image that contributes well to the challenge

Well, what can I say Marcel? Congratulations would probably be a good start! As I scrolled down this lovely minimalist image I was delighted to see your name as the author, very well done. This works so well because it is so simple and in my books simple nearly always works best. The idea itself is what I am most impressed about it is very creative and original especially in terms of the challenge brief but what makes this really work so well is the addition of the ‘sardine can’ metal loop, a very effective addition. Once again, well done Marcel your patient perseverance is now starting to pay off not only with well deserved ribbons but more importantly in your creative approach, I am very pleased for you.
