Greetings from the Critique Club!
I love raptors and had fun trying to guess, in vain, what sort of bird it was. Never would have guessed red kite.
I would love to see the original image, because the first thing I noticed was the amount of pp done to it and its effect. It's like seeing a beautiful girl with a ridiculous amount of makeup on, all you can see is the plastered-on mask and not the beauty beneath.
Unless called for in a challenge, or applied with a very light hand, voters seem to frown on obvious use of paint-style filters. Especially with such a small dof I would love to see how much of it is actually in true sharp focus, but the softening effect of the filters kills the chance to see. And though there are indeed areas of true white and true black, the big bleachy patch above the beak separates the darkness of the iris and the beak. What little we can see of the bg is flat and punchy, an uninspiring wash of monotone grey.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I can see so much more potential in this image. I do hope this critique has been of help.
