The title pretty much says it all. Used some groundcherries that I had grown in the garden this past year, then stole a strip of birchbark off of a white birch to act as a more interesting bg than the surface of my cutting board!

pp: NEF conversion, crop, vibrance/saturation, light burning (believe it or not) some exposure comp, a couple hits of NIK and here you go!

An engaging still life subject, Susan. I like the hints of red/pink in the birch against the subtle yellows of the groundcherries. It would be interesting to see a version with the bottom of the frame extended enough to avoid cutting off the tip of the groundcherry - and with enough room to create a square crop. Lovely work!

Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that meets the challenge

A lovely high key, low contrast image Susan. Your choice of background was a very wise choice it makes the end result far more interesting and appealing. I feel your exposure was just a hint too much in that you have specks of blown highlight that just cannot be controlled in the same way as the rest of the image. And the other is that corner of unnatural background detail in the top left hand corner, naughty! Overall, a lovely image deserving of the score and placement, well done Susan.
