An interesting image that meets the challenge well
I like your creative approach here, it shows originality. Unlike your commenter I think your ship is in focus in the right places but perhaps the DOF is just a tad on the shallow side, having said that the sail is nicely sharp against the soft focus background so it helps define the boat more effectively. I was thinking perhaps the exposure could be a 1/3 stop less to reduce the brightness of the highlights but this would affect your boat which is nice and bright, I would say you’ve got it right.
