Thank you for your kind words. I so appreciate the critique. Max loves to sleep in my hubby's lap in the evening after dinner. He is 4. I got him to fill my deep sadness after loosing my best traveling buddy, Caesar. Caesar was 12 and had hip displasea. He was part Great Pyrenees and Siberian Husky, I held him in my arms until he took his final breath. I still miss him greatly.

Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that meets the challenges

Your image conveys commitment well from both sides of the spectrum. Like your commenters I am dog-lover too which means we are bound to have at least a slight bias towards it. It displays the trust and affection between you. I see this as a sleeping dog but I can see why one of your commenters has reacted the way she has, the dog could also be an ex-dog! That would make the image very sad indeed but even with that interpretation it does still convey the commitment element required from the challenge. Anyway, thankfully that was not the case, may you each give each other many happy years of devotion to come. Thanks for your entry Susie

Oh my.... I didn't vote on this challenge. However, I am crying at your image. Hopefully, my tears are wasted, because your dog is perfectly fine in your hands. But I am very much a dog person, and your powerful image could possibly portray your beloved pet's last moments. I am deeply moved. I am VERY much hoping your dog is simply sleeping contently. Lovely, emotive photography.

Detail is incredible and the obvious trust between dog and human is very evident. Then again, I'm biased as a dog owner. Nicely done.
