 Michael's Arts and Crafts has the most wonderful things! Found some wood cut-outs of the elephant, the penguin, and bear along with the word 'Explore'.

I spent a good frustrating several hours trying to get good composition with the frosted continents showing on the crystal globe. First 'set' I built did not work for it looked choppy. The globe is a wine stopper so I had to hide it behind folded paper but it made the composition look all disjointed. Refraction and moving studio lights to get a good balance. Odd color and reflections were happening - tried several 'stickers behind the globe and white was the best.

I really wish I could color correct just the crystal globe but that is not allowed in minimal. Argh.


Was ready to give up when a thought occurred after dinner. I cut a hole out of the paper the size of globe. Propped paper up above white sheet and had the globe sticking through cut out. Arranged the paper cut out of the butterfly (I wish it was more perfect around globe but I only had one so this was it). Arrange the wood cut-outs of the word Explore and the animals below. The line up is not spot on perfect but this is the best I found after several hours struggling with it. It is what it is.
