Challenge: Indecision (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S7000
Location: My Basement, Kamloops, B.C.
Date: Nov 2, 2004
Aperture: f8
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/3.2 sec
Date Uploaded: Nov 2, 2004

An indecision that many people face *every single day* around the world. Unfortunately, too many decisions are made.. wrongly.

Alcohol, however, impairs the judgements, and if left to our own devices in this situation.. well.. which one would you decide?

Post processing: USM, Color Balancing, Cloning to minimize glare on the glass, and to get rid of minor annoyances. Used the in-camera double exposure. Yes, the photograph was motion blurred ON PURPOSE.. to give a sense of inebriation.
I fully expect to get horribly dinged for it.

I really want to thank everyone that commented on this shot, and were nice enough to say that they understood the blur to it.

For everyone else that quick-voted and said, in their tiny little pea-minds, "This is blurry, 1." I say... PPPHHHHHHBBBBBTTTTT!!!!!

For all of you that voted low because this is more about choice than indecision.. yes, technically I agree. However, for anyone that has never been blitzed out of their mind so that reaching for a set of car keys actually *looks* like this shot from out your own eyes.. you can't possibly know just how much indecision goes into a decision like this at that point. All your intellect and reasoning is *GONE*.

I just wanted to say that.

Purposely blured due to over consumption! Good idea but I'll bet your paying for it score wise by the 5 second voters.

I suppose the blurriness is intentional. I hope others see that. And definitely taxi.

The blur is very effective in communicating the sense of beiing drunk.

I presumed in this shot that you were trying to have the whole picture out of focus a bit (kind of to represent the normal Saturday night out ;-). So I rated it for what it was and you have a great message and idea for this shot. Good Work.

Well this is the first time an out of focus picture felt proper. I feel that that is creative in its own way.

I'm assuming the blurred photo is intentional here. If so, great photo. 9. If not, then you benefit from the doubt.

Really interesting idea. I hope for you that you won't get voted down too much for being "out of focus". Personnally, while I tink it's very clever from a "meeting the challenge" point of view, photographically speaking, I don't find it really appealling.

I think you are going to suffer cos most think it is out of focus in error, but I think this carrys a very strong message which will be overlooked. A brave effort, Good Luck.

I like the idea, and the execution. I wonder if a little shallower depth of field would help put more emphasis on the keys and phone - but that might be hard to achieve with the shaky effect.

I guess the shaking is because you are to drunk to drive. :)

Good idea, unfortunately its often the keys. Nice job with the shake...Should the beverage in the glass be blue too?

your probably going to get a low score to to the out of focus,i think most people wont catch it but i think it was a good idea to imply the intoxication

It hurts to look at, and without the title, it just wouldn't work. Yet it is such a good idea, that the idea alone is worth several points.
