I thought it looked like a detail from Bruegel's 1565 painting "Winter Landscape with Skaters and Bird Trap".

Hehe overdone processing. You know we're not allowed to use our imaginations.

I like the balance, a clear dread on the left with even deadlier disguised danger on the right.

In my opinion you over done the processing and rendered this into something other than a realistic photograph. I would rather be able to see what exactly it was.
