Why are bridges covered?
What you're really trying to protect in a covered bridge are the structural members--the trusses. Made of heavy timber, these are the expensive part of the bridge, and if they fall apart due to exposure to the elements, so does the bridge. An unprotected wooden bridge will last maybe ten years. Put a cover over it, however, and it'll last for centuries. |

I still don't understand why there are bridges with a roof...

Nice colors and subject, I think a little closer crop on the bottom to eliminate that shadow would put more focus on the bridge and fence |

He he... I come from Iceland and I have only see this kind of bridge in old cartoons and I have often been wondering if it this bridges would be real... thanx for clearing tha up :D |
