 Taken while out riding my bike. As much as I enjoy riding with friends, riding solo gives me the opportunity to stop and stalk a turtle for 15 minutes.

Anticipating something in the upper 5's for this. It's a sharp, detailed closeup, with good light and good compostion, but probably not a shot that will make many people stop and say "wow". It got a good amount of attention and comments on Facebook when I posted it, and it is always interesting to see how that compares to how other photographers will receive it.

Considering how skittish these critters are, this is an amazing shot. 15 minutes of stalking? My encounters are usually like 5 seconds and end with a sploosh as the turtle sinks out of sight.
