+1 on what Johanna says. The human eye instinctively looks for lightness at the top and darkness below. Remember these esp if you like to do land/seascapes. You may want to check out the work by Cuttooth. Mark ribbons in challenges with an almost annoying regularity :-) You could also try PMing him for more tips.

I was going to say that this was uploaded upside down, but I kinda like it!

The only issue is that the brightest area is at the very bottom, which is where your eye goes. I find that I have to force myself to explore the rest of the image. With the brighter portion at the top, the eyes naturally start there and work their way to the bottom.

This is actually unintentionally upside down but I think it looks alright. Any thoughts?
