That's a total different thing. Total different meaning. Here the arm is even more uninteresting than in the Prometheus one (you can't have it all!).
If you crop the arm it gets better. A picture about a cataclysm - terrifying.

In terms of the hand/arm, I prefer the open palm up of this shot. However, I like the more indistinct background of your entry -- the mystery of what you are reaching for.
