After 6 days of no ideas, I decided I would just try. I ran to Target and Dollar Tree for some Halloween inspiration. I came away with a bobble head skull, a fake pear, craft grass, purple roses, and bubbles in plastic eyes.

As I started shooting, I realized I had left my 23 mm lens at work, and I was having trouble capturing the desired composition with the 56mm. I processed a couple that I could live with. But what was missing to me was interesting light and while odd, nothing was all that surreal. A lightening bolt brain moment made me wonder what I could get with the plastic eyes on a porch chair - a chair with lovely texture all over. So out I went. And I was rewarded with some great sunlight and lovely textures. The shot felt all the more surreal to me when converted to b&w. (And how funny that the wrong lens eventually became the right lens.)

From a girl who is scared of many scary movies, I was delighted with my slightly eerie result. Probably will have to print this and hang for Halloween.

Moments like this are why I love photography.
