Hard to know what to say about this challenge. I have tried and failed numerous times to capture an actual silhouette during the daytime. So I wasn't holding my breath that I would figure out how to capture one at night.

But I was awake and active downstairs past dark one evening (a feat during the week since I have an hour commute and it's light so darn late) so I decided I would head outside and give it a try.

There was not much activity on my block, but as I made my way back to my house I noticed all three cats waiting for me at the back door. Well, who can resist photographing the kitties?

I sort of captured a silhouette, but I'm not exactly sure I really did it right. But never one to shy away from a entering an unlikable shot, here goes...

Aha! It's a cat. It took me a while to see it. I had to look down at the screen. When I can make it out it's a nice image - maybe my screen is darker than it should be.

I can see the kitty, and the depth of field; the command over lighting, the correct ISO (low) and low exposure speed for at night. I really like this picture. If you could bring out some of the very, very foreground and sharpen up the cat's outline - including its' eyes, that would be wow. Thx for sharing!
