 The focal length was 55mm and I used my little brother Valur as the model. He hasn´t actually been playing the saxophone for about 3-4 years but that was actually a good thing since it´s been in an isolated case the whole time and therefore clean as a whistle, we didn´t have to polish it first.

Bounced a 550ex flash with a 420ex set up with an umbrella for additional lighting.

Cloned out the umbrella and a couple of glares from the reflection in the saxophone, used curves and unsharp mask but other than that unmanipulated.

I think you needed just a bit more depth of field to include sharp focus on the formost part of the horn. Nice otherwise. 6

Great perspective used. The hand is in perfect focus. The only thing that really husrts it is the blown verticals of the horn and just a bit too shallow DOF for me on the keys.
