I was at my cousins wedding this month. With of course with my camera in tow. I had spotted this angle, in which I thought was nice a perspective.
Post edits Info: Adjustments made with levels, unsharpen mask, cropping, and some cloning from some unwanted distracting objects in the background. Added an adjustment layer: Hue/Saturation to remove the color from the background. Then applied some "painting" over with a mask to remove additional color. Then used hue/saturation, brightness/contrast, and Gaussian blur for the foreground subject.

I like the soft focus and the desat. (Though I'm sure you'll get *lots* of cranky voters who don't... I know my current image is being said to be too soft even though I wanted the 'glow' effect. boo hoo.) Nice warm colors.
One of the best-ever uses of partial desaturation I've seen; turns the background into a photograph of the scene rather than the scene itself (or maybe it is a photo -- no matter), and virtually forces the viewer into empathy with the subject, off in a separate reality from the remainder of the party.
I see what you're trying to do here. I like the sharp focus on the bride's maid. I like the saturation of the girl and the flowers and the desaturation of the weding party. Showing her from behind (through her eyes, sort of) creates immediacy to the girl's lonliness and perhaps, envy. I like all of that, but background is a bit too dark. It's out of focus, I'm sure with intentional choice of DOF. You might try other choices of desaturation... saturate the bride and groom and desaturate all else, for example. Desaturate all but the flowers and the bride and groom, for example. You get the idea. I'm not very good at this, yet, so these are just personal opinions. Keep shooting, it's a great idea for a photo and the idea is the hardest part.
Fantastic composition, all the eyes on someone else while the she looks on. Great use of DOF to immediately draw the eyes to her and the flowers (signifying she's next maybe?). One of the best of the challenge (and there's a lot of great pics in this challenge!).
I was asked to do a wedding last week, but I refused. I am realy to scared to mess things up. This would have been a good inspiration.
I realy like the use of selective desaturation in this photo.
I think you could have composed this better, you have all this space on the right and topside that is unused and also that her facial expression isn“t partially in sight it looses some impact. Anyway, good shot though, I would have been proud to have taken it myself.
