We were eating at Shaw's Crab House in Chicago the evening before this challenge closed. We ordered a steak and shrimp combination plate, but I mentioned to my husband that I'd thought about ordering fish even though we don't like it as well - just to have something to photograph. On the way out, he mentioned this to the maitre d' who asked the manager who obligingly went to the kitchen for the fish (for sanitary reasons, I could not go in the kitchen which I understood). So the manager came back out with this and I took the picture there in the darkness of the entry. I had to use a flash to get anything and I am short and the manager was tall so I didn't have much choice of angles. Plus I was on vacation and editing on a laptop which I hate - cannot see what I have in terms of tones. Other than that . . .

I especially appreciate the comments about the angle, seeing the eye, and the funny looking hand (plastic glove). I didn't expect much from this, but it was under five most of the week and I did feel it met the challenge better than that, so these comments really helped.

The idea is interesting, but the angle on the fish isn't flattering. Then that reflection of the hand/arm is a bit strange- it takes away from the look of a waiter carrying a plate to a table.

Clever subject and great colours. Would have liked to have seem more of his eye.

Dead fish it is.. how long did it take for the waiter to actually hold that while you take the photo?? LOLOL

Looks yummy I hope you enjoyed it.. makes me hungry for fish now too
