It does suggest a door so I'd say it fits the challenge even tho it isn't really a photo OF the door. My biggest complaint is that the strong vertical is in the center of the frame. I like the lines created by the tiles, but I think that the handle should be more to the right or left. The lighting/exposure is a bit dark IMO. There's just not enough tonal range as the whole shot is pretty grey without a lot of contrast. I think that technically it's a pretty good shot actually. The score is probably a reflection of a lack of interest more than anything else. It needs some color or emotional pull of some sort. This looks a little too cold and clinical. Having the floor in the shot doesn't bother me - it adds another line of interest IMO. Just another example of how ideas are so important around here. If you don't find a subject that everyone likes, it doesn't really matter how well you can shoot.

Cool! Great perspective all along that wall and strong composition.

This is a very interesting angle of a door. I like this photo a lot but I can honestly say the border really hurts this photo. They don't compliment each other well in my opinion. I like the the B&W. No border or one that isn't so obstrusive and you get a higher score from me. Good work and luck in the challenge.

I can hear Charles Bates walking up the stairs with a knife.

Like the perspective, refreshing. The simplicity works also. A little more contrast maybe? Nice shot. (7)

I like the black and white treatment; and the angles and lines. I can see the door handle, so it effectively meets the challenge, but overall, the shot has little impact for me.

Solidly taken photo. Focus is good, needs more contrast to work in black and white (to me at least). While I KNOW there's a door there due to the handle, it's not enough, I need more to say this is a door subject photo. 6 Swash

i see a door jamb, a handle, and a wall, not very exciting.

I would have prefered the floor cropped out, good perspective.
