This isn't the real shoe shot. The real shoe shot didn't happen. I've been doing portraits for the local cub scout pack. Of course I waited until the last day for shoes. I really didn't have any ideas.

I had to take down my lights and pack them up for the cub scout portraits, so I thought I'd take just 3 or 4 photos to see what one soft box could do with a shoe. And whether the lighting would be interesting.

I took 4 shots of shoes. They were boring.

Mo came up and claimed the shoe. (cats rub their faces on things to mark them as theirs. That's what he was doing. Thus the title of "mine".)

The portraits took much longer than I expected, and so I went back to see if any of the shoe shots worked. Mo always makes a picture more interesting. :)

Very visually appealing! I love the depth the background texture adds and those eyes definitely convey "mine". My favorite in this challenge.
