I did and I do. I would not pick up a gun to shoot someone who ridiculed my western values. And these were real people without guns who were killed by the self-appointed representatives of other people holding a set of different values to mine. The killers whose power was to have the guns against people who had no guns, people who would not use guns in any case in order to settle differences of opinions. I could never justify it, NEVER.
I grew up in a country where people were scared to say anything against the ruling regime. Those who did were taken away never to be seen again. Presumed dead. I don't understand people who never experienced this kind of terror justify killings as a method of controlling the freedom of expression.
I resent a lot of what was said the Freedom of Expression challenge suggestion thread. The comments were made by people who have NEVER had to fear for their lives by just thinking differently than those in power, than those with guns.
I will now shut up and remain speechless while silently crying. Je suis Charlie.

This look very familiar. I've seen this scene before in the Ansel Adams challenge. It had a distracting centered horizon then, the one that we didn't agree on :-)
This one has a different feel to it. Totally un-Ansel-Adams.
