 Yes, she was singing - she adores birthday celebrations, no matter whose they may be. And she helped bake and frost the cake. The chef's hat and apron and the other baking supplies you see in the foreground were a gift from her mother.

Thanks, Jeb. As I said, family (me included) love it. The DPC score made me indignant but did not diminish its personal appeal :)

Yes, I just noticed the yellow on my laptop - have always viewed the image at home and never noticed that. She is not yellow - could also be from candle light. Anyway, thanks for the comments and suggestions, you two. I appreciate them.

That look is priceless! This is the kind of shot I enjoy - a real moment in time, suspended in pixels (used to be on film, but hey....) The only thing I might suggest is brightening it up a bit and toning down the yellow from the interior lighting.

Awww, I think this is really special. I was one of your 6's. The only shots of people that I scored higher had really dramatic lighting or really unique scenery. (While I get this was a honest shot taken during an actual birthday event, I can't help but wonder if the DPC peeps might have scored it higher had this been a setup shot on a scene with a clean (white?) background.

Frankly I think this image is more special the way it is. I hope you have this beauty framed to enjoy. (I guess maybe the average score doesn't reflect this as above just a snapshot, but to me there is a huge difference between a snapshot and what you captured.)
