I had so much fun with this challenge. Originally I wanted to do something completely different, but needed rain for it, and it kept raining but only at night ... :-). Then I wandered around the garden to take some flower pictures that I could use and got side tracked by the 2 ducks. Saw something similar some time ago on another site and liked the concept. Its not that easy to get the head in the middle of the back to achieve the all white image, even with fairly tame ducks.
I had to lighten up the 2 top corners a bit and crop it. Then I put a texture over it to give it more of a painting feel.
I really like it. I have about 15 slightly different versions of it and had a hard time deciding. Hope I chose right :-).

Thank you all for voting and your kind comments. It's good to be back and do so well. There seems to be a query on the image, as I was asked to send the original through. Hope all goes well, this is my second best score ever and it would be nice to have it on my portfolio :-).
I just got reprimanded by my husband that I mislabeled the picture (not that he was there when I shot it of course ;-)). So apparently it should have been "sleeping duck eying photographer" ... I tried to explain to him that she pulled the feathers through her beak and that this was just a fraction of a second of her grooming herself, so she wasn't sleeping, but he thinks otherwise ;-).

Congrats on the HM. This is lovely. Without seeing the other versions, I think you probably chose right. I have a somewhat similar shot of a brown duck, but gosh, it sure works well with a white one!
