This was a 10 from me during the challenge. I just loved this shot and thought it was brilliant.
Compositionally I think this works well. The subject takes up much of the screen, and the big shadows central to the image seems well placed. The 'grassy' area on the right of the image is quite dark and for me doesn't add much to the image, so for a non-shadow challenge that area might have been more distracting.
I am not sure how to interpret the image on its technical merits. The people don't seem super sharp, but the focus probably was on the shadows on the ground which is right for the challenge. There aren't a lot of colors, so it's hard to tell how accurate the colors are, and there are some deep shadows - but those were integral to the challenge.
This was a perfect for the challenge entered IMHO. Congratulations on the great score and the great finish.
Nice capture but that angled line in the cement is killing me. I'd personally have removed it in post, risked the DQ and fought like mad with the judges that it's "power line distracting", but I get why you might not. Otherwise excellent.
I like the capture in that the shadows interaction with each other appear to be different than the interaction of the actual people. I keep flipping my attention from the shadows to the people.
