This is definitely better in composition, because the foreground waterfall is a good focal point, and then your eye can wander and explore the other water areas or rocks. To me though, overall, the light looks to harsh, leading to a bit too much contrast and no "soft" feel to the photo. By that, I mean the painterly, soft feel you get from a great landscape.

Other issues: overexposure of the water where it pools.

I love landscapes in portrait orientation though...you might have captured this with the front falls at the bottom of a portrait shot. Using that as a strong foreground, the rest of the scene becomes just a gorgeous backdrop, adding depth to the photo.
