 The Western Tanager Male was protecting his territory in a large Ponderosa Pine. I never saw the female, so she may have been incubating eggs. Anyway, this male was returning to the same spot…time after tme. 06/27/14 2:02pm, Canon 5Dmk3, Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM, f/5.6, 1/1000s, ISO 640, lens focal length 400mm.
