This piece of plywood boards up one of the windows of the Civic Hall in Ballarat, a presently unused, municipally owned building of great contention. There is a very vocal, though not terribly large, group of loyals campaigning to save it. I am not one of them. Even though I have personal history with this building - it was the place where I first met my husband at the Saturday night dance, the place in which I enjoyed participating in high school choral competitions, and endured high school speech nights - I wish they would just demolish it because it is supremely ugly and hasn't been used in over a decade.
