There is some method in my title; it's a nod to structuration theory and how space/the built environment can have agency and change the behaviour of its inhabitants and how that those inhabitants reflect elements of their culture right back into the space they build.
I see some resonance there with Mondrian's abstract work and the way I understand that he might have contended that art also has agency and how (perhaps) his abstractions were an inevitable consequence of this feedback loop....
