In life, sometimes relationships or friendships fall apart. People no longer see eye to eye. Communication breaks down. The relationship becomes askew. This can happen between friends, between love interests, between relatives, and even between parent and child. Sometimes the relationship can be reforged and sometimes not with people going their separate ways.

Having the picture frames hanging asymmetrical on the wall with a man and woman inside was one way for me to show how relationships can fall apart.

My thanks to my husband and daughter for agreeing to be my models for this photo shoot. This was the second attempt as that I was not happy with the results of the first one on the previous day.

I built the set with laying the cloth (the wallpaper) on a long piece of cardboard. Placing the empty picture frames I then marked where I would cut the inside out so the faces could show through. I taped ribbon to the back of the frame so that it would look like the picture frames are hanging from a wall.

My models are NOT standing up looking out from behind the wall.

Both my models are lying down on the floor with their heads on decorative pillows. They are laying between four evenly spaced cinder blocks with a long planks of wood down the left and right to hold up the wall but let my models slide in underneath. The 'wall' was then placed on top of the wood planks with their faces carefully positioned in the holes made for the picture frames. Two studio light are on either side angled down to illuminate the scene.
