 This is my wife. And this is really my first try at a face portrait with studio-ish lighting techniques. I made my own reflector with cardboard and aluminum foil wrap and used a workbench spot light for the lighting and used a white bedsheet for the background. B/W conversion, levels, slight vignette, unsharp mask in her eyes, soften skin, and some spot removal in the hair and face.

The portrait is nice, and I like the slight smile that she has. The gray tones fall a little flat though, maybe bumping the contrast some?
