This image is about commitment and risk: I am wandering in my region lately since I'm shooting a time-lapse landscape video.

I really wanted at least one very good sequence of the Milky Way.

Unfortunately I only had one day (during the days when there was no moon in the sky) to reach the mountains.

Weather forecast was not so good, but I decided to go with a couple of friends. When we left our town it was raining. When we arrived at 20kms from the top, it was raining more than before. So we stopped at the last human place before the wild area.

There was a woman behind the counter. One of my friends asked her if it was going to stop raining. Her answer was not so encouraging: "No".

But I had only once chance, so I spoke with Gianluca and Alessio and we decided to try.

So we went on and when we reached Campo Imperatore in a few minutes it stopped raining. So we took some shots before sunset.

But clouds came once again. We had some food with us and decided to wait until 10pm. to see what happened.

We've been rewarded since the clouds slowly disappeared and gave us the chance we were looking for.

It's all about risk and commitment :)

Of course it reminded to me your shot Doc! At what time did you take yours?

Wonderful colors. I would have liked to see more of the foreground, but still a great star photograph.
