 Well, this isn't quite Shizuoka, Japan but it is a replica of an old Japanese tea house located on the grounds of the Tenri Cultural Center in Honolulu. I saw an article on it a few years ago talking about the specifics of it but I can't find it anymore. I used to live about a block from here.

This was my second attempt at it. The first night, I had my settings wrong so the pictures turned out oversaturated and contrasty. This time they turned out better and I even did some light painting to get some of the eaves and plants to light up better. I also got heavily rained on this night and had to take shelter under the eaves for about an hour.

This one's from the first night. Processed RAW version. Much better sky but the jpg settings were not right.

A friend that used to live in Honolulu told me this is a temple, not a tea house.
