A combination of 5 layers. Using several different blending modes, such as vivid light, hard light, soft light. Painted one of the layers black and flipped the other layers vertical and narrowed them. Finishing the process with Topaz clean electric shimmer effect. Originally this was a float that was in my pool, it made an impressive abstract without all the post processing, but that would be no fun. ;)

I only learned about flip and bend by poking around the forums here. What I like about this one is how completely abstract it appears until you reveal what the subject is... then is like a smack in the forehead - Doh! Of course - why couldn't I see it!
I can't figure out what your original photo was, so I'm going to wildly guess that it's a cowboy hat with sparklers sticking out of it. I know that's wrong, but what the heck, why not.

Nice description, this one looks like it could go on a game cover or a motorcycle sticker decals... really cool this turned out.. love the black and reds too
