 The black rose was part of a heraldic device I used when I participated in the [url=]Society For Creative Anachronism[/url] in the 1970's.

Shot a quick self-portrait in the bathroom mirror and put it over a shot of a neighbor's rose -- isolating the Green channel to a Grayscale file gave me a nice black except for the center, which I darkened with a Curve through a round mask.

I love roses :-) Putting the person in the center lik ethis and having another flower come out of the camera makes this interesting.. At first I thought it was like a blur kind of a thing but I had to open this picture up a bit to really look at it. Creative minds want to know :-)

Not so sure of the background, I wish it was just a bit different to separate the main flower from the background.. but I did have to up the point on this one, glad I took another look
