Pond skim competition at Mt Wachusett. Crazy event where people ski/snowboard down a mountain and then try to skim across a 20 foot pond (most get wet!). 200mm on zoom.

I've been meaning to say something, and I think it is Whatever genre this might be this photo transcends it.

Nice action and the reflection in the water just adds to it

This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.

This is one of my 8s - I like it. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. Not my usual cup of tea but this is so well constructed, it got me to stop and look.
2. Nailed focus - crucial in a shot like this.
4. A complete lack of motion unsharpness too - again, crucial.
5. Great colours counterpointing the largely monochromatic water.
6. Killer reflection.

A technical tour de force.
