Red Crossbills, Loxia curvirostra. The female is dull green/yellow. Male is brick red. The crossed mandibles of the bill of these unusual birds are specialized for opening pine cones. Rocky Mountain National Park, near Deer Ridge Junction, 04/19/14 9:19am, Canon 5Dmk3, Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM, 1/800s, ISO 800, lens focal length 400mm.
