| this is one of those rare "generous" pictures. not often can so much be bestowed within the size restrictions. I need to study and learn. |

| More than merely a pleasing pattern of branching lines, this image hints at the joy of adventure as the lines curve into the unknown past cliff and hillside. This promise of discovery is at the base of the allure of rail travel and its wide appeal. And this lovely black and white evocation of these longed for moments is captured here with a low, intimate perspective that invites the viewer into the scene. On a personal note, it brings back wonderful memories of the summer I once spent hopping freight trains across the country. |
