 Moraine Park Dawn. 01/28/14 6:58 am. (Sunrise came 16 minutes later at 7:14am) Previous day brought 10" of snow. Canon 5Dmk3, Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, f/8, 0.3000s, ISO 100, lens focal length 82mm.

In the right viewing conditions, a pink (or orange or purple) band is visible in the twilight sky just above the dark blue band of the Earth's shadow. This pink band is called the "anti-twilight arch" or "Belt of Venus". The name "Belt of Venus" is not connected with the planet Venus; the Belt of Venus is part of Earth's upper atmosphere which is illuminated by the setting or rising sun. It is visible either after the sun ceases to be visible (at sunset) or before the sun becomes visible (at sunrise).

Amazing shot, just love the tree to the left, gives a sense of sadness in the way it's leaning. The mountains look surreal, just an overall really nice feel to this, all the best.

One of my three highest rated photos. Reminds me of an oriental scroll, read from right to left because of the tree on the left whose form ushers you out. The snow blowing off the mountaintops also moves you in that direction. Along the way you can explore up the mountain valley. A beautiful stroll for the eyes.
