"Tyrone" is iced in. She'll spend the winter at this dock, rare in New England. She's a very tough-hulled old gal :-)

Rge warm light belies the cold conditions. It's a beautiful scene. The houses look charming.

Having lived on the mighty St.Lawrence river and not the ocean when I look at "Tyrone" iced in I hope that she sees a gentle thaw and not a fast thaw with strong currents and winds. The strenght of the current in the river could push the ice to shore and it would pile 15-20 feet high overnight.

The lighting and the reflections on the ice are fabulous. I really love this.

It's rare to see boats spend the winter in the water. There is a certain amount of slightly frantic activity at the end of October since most insurance companies require boats to be out of the water by November 1st but if it's good weather boaters want to enjoy a one or two more trips while they can.

It is lovely light and beautifully processed ;-)

Wow, nice boat. My first thought before reading your description was to wonder if the ice was going to cause problems for her.

I keep looking at that thing in the lower right, wondering what it is. Mooring buoy?
