Not even 10Hours in to challenge and somebody requests my original. Ill take that as a compliment thank you sir/mam. I learnt allot in shooting this and Just love challenging myself to take minimal to the level of getting it right at the press of the button. Sure this could have been done better by some pro's out there but I strugled allot to get this effect in minimal. Id rather do this than spend hours pushing buttons behind a computer.. this taught me allot about Lighting and photography. It's a love hate image and it's getting hammered on voting.. so sorry Team.. :(

Meaning
Eye is the window to soul.. That had me thinking for this challenge...
Shot through Key hole and to look back at Peeping Tom spying.. But what is going on in Peeping Toms Mind? Why does he do it..It's a closed/locked door reflected in the Black Pupil

Why are people never minding their own business and always wanting insight in other people's lives and gossip..
I suppose the it does make you feel better about yourself if you can find somebody worse than yourself..

Thanks for the votes and a couple of people who thought the image through

Setup
Took me a while to finally get it right but in short

Camera on tripod right up almost against the Keyhole and alligned perfectly. test shots needs to be taken to see if it's right because viewfinder and actual image entirely different. Must be place perfectly square to it.

1x Flash light from left almost 90degree angle - the side on which eye is viewing through keyhole.
1x flashlight on other side of model focused on the door handle and keyhole in order to get enough light bouncing back on to the Pupil reflecting.

have model sit very still and spaced right for focus - no focusing during shoot but rather get the model moving and distance right to get the eye right in the key hole.
Very simple but figuring it out and eventually getting it was fun.. For me but my wife and models hated me eventually for being so hard headed about getting MY shot and not many others which they considered was good enough...lol

Taken a while for me to go back and look at recent images but this was worth it - nicely done. Well done on getting it technically well lit and set up in camera. I agree it should have placed higher, but this is DPC and voters do what they want, not what is correct

Goeie genade, Rian! Wonderlik, dis al wat ek kan sĂȘ.
Met sulke talent het jy regtig nie die 1DX nodig nie, kan ek dit van jou hande af neem?
Dankie vir die storie.

It was 9 from me and missed the time to bump to 10 or comment.
I still look in disbelief: how did you do it, minimal? Spectacular tones, details. Not to mention the idea....who could give under 7 to a picture like this? (not interested to know them though)

To be honest I was going to ask for this image to validated but I see it has been.

I have looked at this for quite some time and I'm still amazed. 10 and fav!

Voted before... coming around to comment...

I find this to be a very interesting (and somewhat disturbing) image. I'm really curious as to how this was accomplished. I can find many levels in meaning in this image.

Strange, but interesting. I love the texture of the iris, but the whole image only works somewhat. 6
