I like the tilt of the horse's head.
It's a full-blown smile, no coaching necessary on this one, that's why you lost points. hehe.
Maybe it's the lens - too sharp, get rid of it.

Great capture, great smile, fits the challenge to a "T".
I think the centered crop works well with this, it works for me anyway.
