 I saw this sphere from my taxi on my way back to the hotel after a long day at work. I then headed off in the general direction and after about 3hrs I found it (took many street shots along the way though). I have no idea what it is but this was a total 5hrs trek for a challenge (my biggest effort yet). I didn't get any closer as I didn't want to try and walk back in the dark (it was my second day in Paris and I had no idea where I was and I was pretty jet lagged as it took 35 hours to get here - long story. I stuck to the channel my hotel was on and didn't want to venture to far from it.) And of course it was raining and I had no umbrella and thousands of dollars of equipment. All I'm saying is that I love the shot if for no other reason that it was a real effort to get it. Of course I don't expect the voters to know this and so a mid 5's is expected. I'm only saying all this for my own record and if anyone is interested (I'm still get lagged and alone so I just want to ramble) :-)

I did get shots that had the sphere vertually all by it self but I really like the way the sphere contrasts against the strong angular shapes around it.

Oh, by the way, it took 20 mins to have people in the image which I felt was important for perspective and I just like to have people in my shots when possible.

Ok, after all this rambling it is obvious that I really like this image. However, I really wanted to enter this one as well:
