Literally - this steer wrestler's horse wasn't the only one getting wound up and going airborne in their excitement while waiting for the steer to run.

pp: shot jpg, resize, sharpen, save for web

Post-challenge: woohoo! So happy with the TT finish - don't know if it made it to the homepage yet, still only halfway through my morning coffee :-)

The horse and rider are in a fairly small box made of the fencing, and to the lower left you can just see the chute where the steer is being held til horse and rider are ready.

As far as this black mare was concerned, everything was just dandy, and she wanted to go chase that steer! The horses are just as capable as anyone else of getting wound up. She reared repeatedly and the rider had no problem controlling her so it's clearly a habit of hers. I don't think I have any subsequent wrestling shots, so they may have missed their steer this time round.

I figgered this was you. Love the horse's expression. One of my high scores given, thought it deserved a ribbon.

Congrats on TT Susan. This was one of my top two picks (actually I was just attempting a last second bump up to 10 but roll over beat me).

Chopped off the rear hooves.

Otherwise, this is superb though. Horse doesn't look like it thinks so though.
